It’s been over a year since R&B king Usher filed for divorce from wife Tameka Foster, but he recently told People magazine that he thinks all the turmoil in his life has actually been a career booster. His reasoning? The fact that we’re living in “an era where sensationalism is more prevalent than anything.”
Foster went into cardiac arrest prior to having cosmetic surgery in 2009, leading Usher to cancel his performance at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy Gala. Foster recovered, but their marriage did not—Usher filed for divorce four months later, claiming that the couple had been living separately for some time.
Always-fashionable Usher, seen here in a pair of super sexy full-rim Marc Jacobs shades, has been credited with jumpstarting the career of teen superstar Justin Bieber. Sensational? Uh, yeah.
