Grammy Award nominee and former X Factor winner Leona Lewis was recently voted Most Influential Woman in a poll conducted by the London newspaper Metro in honor of the 100th International Woman’s Day. The 25-year-old’s most successful single, “Bleeding Love,” hit the top of the charts and reached number one in 34 different countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Germany, making it only the second song in history to achieve that feat after Elton John’s 1997 remake of “Candle in the Wind,” his tribute to Princess Diana. “Bleeding Love” was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 51st Grammy Awards.
Leona’s debut single, “A Moment Like This,” was originally recorded by American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson in 2002 but Leona’s version became the fastest selling single in the UK after being downloaded over 50,000 times within 30 minutes of its release. You go, girl! In November 2008 she set yet another record for the fastest selling download-only release with her cover of the Snow Patrol song “Run,” selling 69,244 copies in just two days. No wonder she was named Billboard magazine’s Top New Artist in 2008. Lewis’s debut tour, The Labyrinth, took place in 2010. Seen here basking in the glow of her own success, Leona definitely looks comfy in her well-deserved spotlight. Her gorgeous oversized Versace sunglasses are available in four different frame and lens color choices.
