Avril Lavigne is no stranger to geek chic eyeglasses, as she’s no stranger to green and pink hair. The singer is cute and smiling in the above picture, but she reminds us of her old self on the cover of Nylon Mag this month, in a black outfit and smokey eye, with her long, blond hair down. Lavigne tells the magazine what she tried to do on her new album: “Lyrically, I pushed myself to talk about different subjects I haven’t talked about before. I didn’t want to be so simple. I tried to really express myself and go deeper.” The 28 year old describes herself as transparent, and she says that she can only be herself: in her music, with her fiance, Chad Kroeger, and everyone surrounding her. “If I’m not happy, people are going to know that,” she says. Careful, don’t piss her off!
