With awards season in full swing, Glamour magazine had its 10th annual Woman of the Year ceremony this week, and all of London was filled with buzz. The red carpet was an eclectic mix, as some celebrities interpreted the event as being casual, while others went all the way with fancy gowns. We wonder if there was a dress code on the invite? We've seen model Cara Delevingne in a t-shirt and pants, Victoria Beckham in a jumpsuit and Joan Collins in one of her Dynasty-style two piece suits, so there was definitely no theme to the event. Except for one: celebrating women.
The award for Solo Artist went to Rita Oro, and we're thinking the one for best red carpet style should go to her as well. The singer looked stunning in a light colored Marchesa gown with silver embroidery, and precious Chopard jewelry. However, the big winner of the night was Bictoria Beckham, who got the coveted award for Woman of the Decade. The former Spice Girl wore a black strapless Maison Martin Margiela jumpsuit, which is just what makes her the amazing fashionista she is. Beckham was accompanied to the event by her oldest son, Brooklyn, whom she called “the best looking man in the room” during her acceptance speech.
Rashida Jones got the award for Best Filmmaker, The Saturdays won Best Band and Clare Waight Keller of Chloe was awarded Best Fashion Designer. Zosia Mamet – who looked very appropriate in a pretty Preen dress – got Best International Actress, while Daniel Radcliffe was named Man of the Year. If there were a best dressed category for men, we'd give the award to David Grandy, just because his blue eyes go with anything he'd ever wear.
