Who are the world’s most desirable women? AskMen’s 2011 Most Desirable Women list was just announced and it presents a “changing of the guard” of sorts, as established celebrities drop off and surprising newcomers step in. Celebrating its 10th year, AskMen selected from more than 5 million votes by its 16 million international readers and low and behold, actress Blake Lively came out of nowhere and seized the top spot in a meteoric rise from No. 85 last year.
A SoCal girl through and through, Blake began acting at the age of 11. Best known for her portrayal of Serena van der Woodsen in the book-based TV series Gossip Girl, her claim to fame also includes starring roles in movies such as Accepted and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series opposite America Ferrera. “The Sisterhood” and its sequel were box office smashes, raking in over $86M combined. Her role as Bridget earned her a Teen Choice nomination for “Choice Movie Breakout.” You can catch her on the big screen this summer in the comic book action film Green Lantern opposite Ryan Reynolds. She plays Hal Jordan’s (aka the Green Lantern’s) love interest, Carol Ferris who ultimately becomes the villain Star Sapphire. Do we smell a sequel already?
