As if Rihanna’s enormous music career doesn’t keep her busy enough, our favorite Barbadian superstar has teamed with skin and body care giant Nivea to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary. Most of the details are still under wraps, but a bare-shouldered portrait of RiRi will be featured in Nivea’s newest advertising campaign and a company rep has told People magazine that her debut as a spokesperson will happen in May—in concurrence with the start of her Nivea-sponsored Loud world tour. She’ll also lead an interactive social media campaign in hopes of “building a new generation of Nivea fans.”
Impressive, definitely, but product endorsement is actually old hat to Rihanna, who struck her first deal with Secret Body Spray in 2005. She even recorded a song called Winning Women with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger for Secret deodorant, and was chosen by Clinique to promote their Happy fragrance the same year. In 2007 she signed on as a CoverGirl celebrity spokesperson.
Musically, Rihanna totally rocked the Brit Awards—the U.K.’s biggest night in music— on February 15, 2011. Not only did she receive the honor of best international female solo artist, she held her own “mini fashion show” of sorts, sporting four sizzling looks from the red carpet to the stage. Speaking of sizzling, here she is donning a pair of scorchin’ Tom Ford shades. The lightweight metal cat’s eye sunglasses, which feature open temples at the sides, are available in four frame / lens color choices.
