Most brides-to-be are—understandably—a complete bundle of nerves before their big day, but if you’re Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, the stomach butterflies are probably tenfold. With tacky royal wedding souvenirs ranging from coffee mugs and commemorative plates to pillowcases and dress-up dolls for children available in every British storefront, it’s safe to assume that the United Kingdom is completely obsessed with Kate’s upcoming April 29 nuptials to Prince William. The regal pair met in 2001 while they were both students at the University of St. Andrews. Following a short-lived breakup in 2007, they reunited and became engaged in November 2010 and will be married in Westminster Abbey in front of nearly 2000 guests including other royals, family, friends, and celebrities.

Admired for her fashion sense, Kate has already been placed on numerous “best dressed” lists, including People magazine’s popular best dressed lists in 2007 and again in 2010. Named one of Richard Blackwell’s ten “Fabulous Fashion Independents” of 2007, Kate also appeared on Vanity Fair’s international best-dressed list in 2008 and was selected by Style.com as its monthly beauty icon in June 2008. Seen here sporting an elegant pair of oversized modern square sunglasses, it’s easy to see why the entire world has fallen in love with this beautiful young royal-to-be.
