And the new ventures…and cash…just keep flowing in the Kim Kardashian camp. Her latest cash coup: a whopping $40 million investment–led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz–for her online footwear and accessories site ShoeDazzle.com with biz partner Brian Lee. And Andreessen Horowitz knows how to pick ’em–they’re also an investor in Facebook, Foursquare, Groupon, Skype and Twitter. Brian, who is CEO as well as co-founder of the e-commerce site, said the “score” will help the company expand into new categories and internationally including Asia by the end of the year and South America soon thereafter. The site already has more than 3 million subscribers.
The week also boasted the launch of Kim K’s new fragrance “Gold” just in time for summer. At a soiree at Macy’s in Aventura Mall just outside sizzling Miami, Kim pumped up the promo volume telling her fans that the sensual scent was inspired by her Dad: “When my dad would go away on trips he always came back with a special perfume for me. So when I was developing Gold, I thought of him and other happy times in my childhood.” She added that the new scent exudes sexy, beachy and glamorous summers with sparkling top notes of Italian bergamot and grapefruit with a hints of spicy pink peppercorn, jasmine, delicate rose and golden resins of amber and musk. Now that’s a serious combo. And the bottle design? Inspired by her curves, of course. She’s the consummate sexy business mogul in these glam Dolce & Gabbana shades, available in shiny black and havana brown frame hues accented with blingy gold trim. –rpuccia
