After a scary stint in the hospital last week for being “malnourished” and “very low on iron,” teen queen Selena Gomez took the stage this past Monday at Santa Monica Place mall in Santa Monica, CA. The 18-year-old rocked with her band, The Scene, and greeted fans to promote her upcoming summer movie, Monte Carlo — all postponed from last Sunday and rescheduled because of her illness.  And it’s a good thing Selena’s feeling better, because she’s got an insanely busy few months ahead of her.

The main squeeze of mega-pop star Justin Bieber will be making appearances at malls across the country through the end of the month in support of her new film which co-stars Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. The flick hits theaters on July 1.  While Selena’s a proven star on the Disney Channel, she recently told Access Hollywood that she’s “a little nervous” about her more grown-up role. “It’s my first romantic comedy and I get to star with some really amazing co-stars,” she said. “So it’s a really sweet movie and I can’t wait for everybody to see it.” In addition to her movie, Selena’s new album, When the Sun Goes Down, is set to drop on June 28, which will be followed by a slew of tour dates that run through the middle of September. No wonder the starlet was exhausted! Let’s hope Selena’s learned that she needs to take some time out for herself (and keep a Power Bar in her pocket).
