Read why the actress won’t even hear about dieting.
The girl of the moment, Jennifer Lawrence, is getting ready for her new movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which will be out on November 22. To promote the film, the actress covers Harper’s Bazaar UK the same month, which is on newsstands today. On the occasion, the actress humorously confesses to the interviewer that her favorite thing about her life is the money, but that she’s also quite fond of chips! However, Jennifer hasn’t always been this secure in her body. Remember her Oscar speech? She was so nervous that all she could do was make awkward jokes and stutter. Despite her desire to be graceful, she tripped, and that was that. As for fitting into Hollywood beauty standards, the actress will not do whatever it takes: “Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet.” Even though she won an Oscar and her career skyrocketed, she’s still the little girl who’s hurt about offensive people like that. “I know it’ll never happen to me again. If anybody even tries to whisper the word ‘diet’, I’m like, ‘You can go f*ck yourself.’”
While on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar she looks almost like she’s not herself, in incredible make up (burgundy lipstick, green eyes and freckles) and black lace, the actress shows that she’s very much approachable in this look from earlier this year. Before it was announced that she’s the new face of Miss Dior, Jennifer made a surprise appearance at Raf Simmons‘ first collection for Dior, the couture one in July. The actress gracefully wore a full Dior outfit, with a fit and flare floral dress, nude peep toes, chain bag and oversized, rectangular shaped sunglasses.
