Let’s face it: the world has a secret fascination with the adorable-child-star-turned-raunchy-bad-girl known as Lindsay Lohan. Seriously, who would have dreamed that the freckle-faced cutie from The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday would one day join the likes of Danny Bonaduce, the Diff’rent Strokes cast and Corey Feldman to become a poster child for trainwrecks?
At the moment, LiLo’s in the middle of a felony grand theft trial. An upscale Venice jewelry store told police that Lindsay had stolen a necklace back in January, while she was already on probation for a 2007 DUI case. The media circus surrounding the whole thing has celebrity gossip-lovers rolling their eyes (while reading every morsel they can find about Linds on the sly, of course!) Lindsay, who has pleaded not guilty, rejected a judge’s offer to end the case early—a signal that the Mean Girls actress intends to battle it out in court.
Lindsay’s attorney notified the prosecutor handling the case that Lindsay would not be taking the plea bargain, which means that she’ll be required to appear in court on April 22, 2011 for a preliminary hearing. A new judge will determine whether there is enough evidence for her to stand trial. What a frenzy that’ll be! Meanwhile, Lindsay is all smiles in these glam Persol sunglasses.
