After Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Christian Bale, Ben Affleck is the next Batman.

Ben-Affleck-Batman

The male lead in Batman movies over time included Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Christian Bale. Coming up is Ben Affleck.

It would be an understatement to say that the role of Batman is coveted by all male Hollywood actors. Of course, some of them are never even considered (could you imagine Johnny Depp as Batman? Yeah, me neither!), while others seem to be the perfect choice. Ben Affleck: of course! Why didn't we think about it?

Ten years after the last Batman movie, the superhero will finally be battling Superman, a fight that's been debated by comics fans for decades. Filmmaker Zack Snyder collaborates with Affleck on the idea, and he told the press at Comic Con 2013: “Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest superheroes in the world.” The role of Superman goes to Henry Cavill, who's already familiar with the character from Men of Steel. The production, yet unnamed, will be released in July 2015. Snydier revealed his excitement to work with Affleck, saying that's he's just the right actor to portray the multifaceted billionaire, Bruce Wayne.

After the success of Argo last year, Affleck is already working on Runner Runner, Live by Night and Gone Girl, and we bet the addition of this Batman movie will mean lots of late nights at the “office”. It's nice to see that, besides all this, he still manages to spend time with his cute daughter, Seraphima. And we love that he's teaching her how to protect her eyes early on, wearing sunglasses. Not that the little fashionista wouldn't like the look!
