Kate Upton was just named model of the year, and we think everyone can agree she deserves it: she became the face of David Yurman, she covered Vogue, and she was featured alongside Cameron Diaz in The Other Woman. The blond will accept the coveted award tonight, during the 10th Annual Style Awards in New York. The Sports Illustrated model will also celebrate the 100th Vanity Fair edition by gracing its cover – and by defending American women. In an interview for the magazine, Kate stated that an agent rejected her, saying that American women are lazy: “”I was so offended! I’ve never been so offended! I was like, ‘You know that you’re in America, right?’ And it wasn’t ‘American models’—it was ‘American women are lazy,’ period! I feel like a lot of women would disagree with that. A lot!” she said. Not only is Kate an ethical model, but she's also got quite the style. She's recently been spotted in a simple, but classy look: printed pants from Exclusive for Intermix, a button down shirt with pockets, black stilettos and Ray Ban sunglasses. Great look for a Model of the Year!
