Often being compared to Britney Spears because of her good-girl-gone-bad pattern, Miley Cyrus surprised everyone when she announced a collaboration with the singer earlier this year. Included on Miley's new album, Bangerz, the single is called “SMS” and it's now officially out:

And since the two pop idols seem to have similar paths, let's have a look at their style over the years and decide who wore it best:

1. The denim challenge
The year was 2001 when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were an item. It was also the year when they thought it appropriate to wear matching denim “evening” wear for the American Music Awards. Hands down for Britney, who convinced her boyfriend to do such a thing – Liam Hemsworth was never seen wearing matching clothes with Miley. However, Miley's Anthropologie jumpsuit from last year was far more appropriate for the event (dinner in Philadelphia), age and footwear (Converse).
Winner: Miley, for looking decent.

2. The hair shaving challenge
Both singers were photographed as they were getting rid of their long, blond (and signature) hair, and both of them seemed excited to do it. The results weren't the same, though: while for Miley it meant a change in style (from cute to edgy), for Britney it meant breakdown. The latter was apparently shaving her hair just to piss of her mom back in 2007. It has been said that Miley's new hair had it's role in the Liam breakup, but still, she managed to rock the hell out of that partially shaved hair.
Winner: Miley, for still wearing hers now.

3. The Terry Richardson challenge
Britney posed for Terry in 2010, as part of a Candies campaign. Take note that this was after Briney's meltdown and after giving birth to two children. The looked cute with her pink teddy, and completely toned. She was also 28. Miley posed for Terry this year, aged 20, and while still trying to figure out who she is. She's currently a “bad girl”, but will it last? She does rock the white tank and panties, in a very 90s fashion.
Winner: Britney, for having that abdomen after two kids.

4. The nipple pasties challenge
It looks like nipple pasties and fishnets are a match made in pop-star heaven. Britney wore hers in 2009, in a glittery bodysuit with over the knee boots and long gloves, as well as a hat. Miley went even further and paired her Agent Provocateur lingerie with a white fishnet dress (?), furry sleeves and boots. It's tough to pick a winner here…
Winner: Britney, for at least looking like a cabaret dancer.

5. The sunglasses challenge
Britney is not much of a risk taker with her sunglasses: she often uses them to hide her identity from the paparazzi, and she prefers oversized styles, often from opulent Italian fashion houses like Roberto Cavalli or American classics like Tom Ford. Miley has way more fun with her shades, often sporting unusual, new styles before they're even a trend. She loves vintage sunglasses as well as funky contemporary ones.
Winner: Miley, for taking some fashion risk.
