The Fifty Shades of Gray star would do anything to get her character right.
In no time, Dakota Johnson came from Melanie Griffith & Don Johnson‘s sitcom actress daughter to one of the most prominent faces in the media. And she owes it all to her part in Fifty Shades of Gray, which is still one year away from its premiere. Covering Elle Magazine this March, the actress reveals her secrets about the role and how she does it. It’s actually pretty simple: “I don’t have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame,” she told the mag. Wearing Jason Wu, Missoni, Burberry and Louboutins for the photoshoot, the 24 year old says she approached the script for the movie not thinking about the sex scenes, but about what’s beyond that: “Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there’s a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down.”
For the interview with Elle, Dakota also takes a moment to discuss what it’s like growing up as the child of two celebrities in Hollywood: “I think people, especially the press, like to pick on children of famous people and I think that’s fucking awful. Things get made up. It’s so, so sad. And there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it as a 16-year-old. You’re like….Why? What did I do?” Don’t worry about it Dakota, you didn’t do anything wrong. The new issue of Elle comes out on February 18th.
