The gorgeous Eva Mendes is not only the face of the most popular fragrance on the planet, Angel by Thierry Mugler, she’s also the voice. Last week, the 37-year-old actress unveiled the top-selling fragrance’s new global print ad campaign in NYC, and revealed that she will be singing in the broadcast commercials coming this fall. Eva describes the striking campaign as ethereal, “yet it’s strong and it almost has a carnival-like feel to it.” She has the highest compliments for the collaborators on the ad series: “I really can honestly say I’ve never felt so creatively satisfied with doing a campaign before. From the costuming to the music to the fact that I sing on the commercial to the overall look, I just feel like it’s been a true partnership and I couldn’t be happier.”
The perfume commercial marks Eva’s singing debut, and when she learned that she’d be crooning one of her favorite songs of all time, “Windmills of Your Mind,” that sealed the deal for her. Though she doesn’t claim to be the best singer in the world, Eva laughs when asked if she has the voice of an angel. “My mother would think so!” she says. “The good thing about ‘Windmills of Your Mind’ is that it’s almost like reading poetry.” Here, Eva’s the epitome of an angel diva in these impossibly glam Miu Miu shades, which come in four frame colors. –rpuccia
