When you say Sofia Vergara, you think sex-appeal and fun. High fashion is not necessarily on the list. But Harper’s Bazaar saw something in the Modern Family actress, and she is now covering their latest US issue, photographed by none other than Terry Richardson. The actress was able to book a photo shoot with the magazine just after returning from an Asian vacation with her fiance, Nick Loeb, and her 21 year old son from a previous marriage, Manolo. Of course, she loved it there, but she’s ready to get back to work. The 41 year old told Harper’s Bazaar that she’s making the most of her 15 minutes of fame, and has been working really hard to get to where she is now. “I never thought I could act, or acting was for me. I’ve never been artistic. I always knew I was funny; I was the class clown, but I never thought to make money out of it or to be professional, ” she says, admitting that being famous for acting is a bit of a surprise for her. However, Modern Family creators fell in love with her as a person, and created her character, Gloria, based on her personality.

When it comes to beauty secrets, Vergara says it all comes easy for her: she’s Latina. That fact alone makes her the bombshell she is. She doesn’t believe in the natural look (only for 19 year old girls or Gisele Bundchen, as she puts it), so putting on make-up and doing her hair comes “like shaving”. She does it all the time and recommends even a bit of lipstick to her friends. Of course, she nails it. And she doesn’t look half bad when she’s in her everyday clothes, either: pictured below, she’s wearing jeans, a tee and a jersey jacket with Jimmy Choo sunglasses, while heading for her car. We think the Harper’s Bazaar cover is a pretty neat way of celebrating her 41st birthday (on July 10)!
