Malibu was the home of the InStyle Summer Soiree on August 14th, and celebrities made it even more interesting.

The best part of an event is always the red carpet arrivals. You can't afford not looking gorgeous, and stars know that. Julianne Hough, for example, picked a Bec & Bridge white top and an orange maxi skirt by Halston Heritage, and she looked incredible. Although others weren't nearly as glamourous as Julianne, they did make quite an impression:

Ashley Madekwe picked a yellow jumpsuit by Diane von Furstenberg, which she paired with a Chanel belt and Saint Laurent shoes. Very bold – but the color looks perfect with her complexion. Another bold dress worn with simple accessories was worn by Jenna Elfman, who picked a printed Alexander McQueen dress with black stilettos and a nude clutch – youthful and fun. Equally colorful was Ashley Tisdale, who went for a Clover Canyon printed dress in all the colors of the rainbow, with pink Manolo Blahnik heels and a Prada clutch. The outfit wasn't anything special, but it was alright. At the opposite pole, Shenae Grimes wore black and white, although her look wasn't fully appropriate for the event. The 90210 star went for leather shorts with a striped blazer, a checkered bag and heeled ankle boots. Very back-to-school of her.

One of the best dressed of the evening was Brittany Snow, who wowed in a Lela Rose dress with an asymmetrical peplum, paired with nude sandals and a clutch in a pop of orange. And in terms of cuteness, Bryce Dallas Howard was it, with a watercolor print dress of retro inspiration and a pair of nude heels. Since most attendees picked colorful outfits, we can't fail to mention Crystal Reed in a sexy Dolce&Gabbana dress, worn with yellow Manolo Blahnik shoes. Awkward's star, Ashley Richards, was also present, in a striped Vince Camuto dress with Kurt Geiger platform sandals in turquoise.
