The first news about Solange Knowles attending the Met Gala were all milk and honey: designer Phillip Lim told The Cut that the singer was a great date, playing for him before heading for the event. Before you know it, something completely different was released by TMZ, footage of the woman attacking her brother-in-law, Jay-Z, in the elevator at the same event. It looks like Solange has been holding it back before actually going on the elevator, and didn’t realize the whole thing was being filmed with surveillance cameras. The singer is kicking and punching Jay Z, while his bodyguard tries to hold her down and Beyonce doesn’t get involved. A picture of the trio getting off the elevator shows Solange walking up front, Bey smiling and Jay Z visibly hurt, soothing his face.

Several hashtags related to the topic are trending on Twitter still, including #Solange, #WhatJayZSaidToSolange and #JayZSolange. People are mostly making fun of the incident, since it hasn’t been revealed what the fight was actually about.
