“The View” host, Jenny McCarthy was happy to announce her engagement to Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block, during Wednesday’s episode of the ABC show. The 41 year old blonde confessed that her 11 year old son was involved in popping the question: “This weekend I was sitting with Donnie … and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said ‘Will’ and he handed it to me,” she told the audience. Next, her son came with another card, reading “you”, then one reading “marry”, which led to Donnie’s shirt reading “me?” According to Jenny, her son was excited to have “another daddy”. Evan’s dad is John Mallory Asher, who was married to McCarthy for 6 years since 1999. She started dating Wahlberg last summer, and she has since stated that she changed her mind about not wanting to be a bride again after she met him.

Donnie Wahlberg made an appearance on Wednesday’s show, and reenacted the proposal. “I told the universe I’m ready for love. I said bring the one. I’m not doing any more auditions”, Jennie stated in an interview last year. She previously dated Jim Carrey for five years, before finally falling into the arms of Donnie, whom she met on set of her former show on VH1. Jenny’s ring features a “yellow sapphire” and she mentioned they’re thinking August 2015 for the wedding date. Donnie has been previously married to Kim Fey, who is the mother of his two kids.
