See what next spring's eyewear trends are all about.
It's only been one day of New York Fashion Week, and we're already seeing some trends. Of course, we're gonna stick to eyewear, although it's tempting to speak about all the pretty flower crowns and tennis attire. But let's leave that to the specialists, and focus on what we know best.
There's only been a handful of shows so far, and none of the huge designers showed yet. But we did love the types of sunglasses we've seen on the runway. Whit, for example, opted for a hexagonal shape, medium size, and classic dark color in their sunglasses, perfect for the vacation-like looks in the collection. Moving on, VFiles went for a Matrix type of look, with small sunglasses and a slight cat eye curve, semi-rimmed design and dark lenses.
Gwen Stefani's LAMB, just like the designer herself, always has funky eyewear in the presentations. This season, they're red and cat eye, with round lenses and a straight metallic brow. Of course, they also come in darker colors, and there are several variations, because Gwen knows how easily we get bored with repetition.
Honor brings on a bit of sparkle, with cat eye sunglasses that are dotted with small embellishments. The look is sophisticated and classy, wearable by anyone.
At Erin Featherson this season, we're seeing friendly, spring colors, and familiar sunglasses shapes. On the one hand, we have clubmasters, in pastel, and on the other hand there's oversized cat eyes with marked corners. Simple and sweet.
The only designer to have shown eyeglasses at NYFW so far is BCBG Max Azria. Paired with basic garments, the geek chic frames have think, matte frames that are bound to be a hit.
What show are you most looking forward to?
