What are the latest sunglasses trends from the streets? Find out here, straight from the fashion capitals of the world.
For men’s eyewear, we noticed that sunglasses are becoming small and chic rather than oversized and opulent. The only details they may have is a metallic brow on an acetate frame. The shapes are classic – square or round – and so are the colors. Timeless is the word to best describe what men are wearing at Fashion Week this season.
Since it’s Fashion Week after all, you see interesting outfits wherever you look. Some people are into statement accessories – such as shield-like eyewear, and they bring it into the streets like it’s nobody’s business. Honestly, we’d rather keep this look on the runway and in Daft Punk posters, but you have to credit this girl for being so bold.
Another timeless trend we noticed are tortoiseshell sunglasses. Whether they’re round combined with a metallic brow, or oversized cat eyes, tortoiseshell frames flatter any skin tone and are easy to match with everyday looks. The girl in the second picture is wearing Prada PR29 PS sunglasses ($282).
Clear sunglasses are also having a moment. The acetate frames made of transparent plastic are as cool as it gets, and this particular model is even better with the golden arms. The angular shape is retro inspired, but as fashionable as can be.
Olivia Palermo is a woman of many looks, but we love the rather rough outfit she put on for a show in London. The starlet paired her Alexander Wang leather skirt with stilettos, a leather jacket and mirror lens sunglasses, which is edgier than what we’re used to seeing her in. Our verdict: well played.
Sometimes classic is best: small, angular sunglasses in neutral colors go with everything and they don’t stand out. This first woman pictured is wearing Tom Ford sunglasses with a red lip, while blogger and model Hanneli Mustaparta let her outfit shine by wearing plain black sunnies.
