The awards season is in full bloom, and we’ve got until March 2 to make our predictions for the Academy Awards. What should they wear?
Tilda Swinton would look like her charming self in this white Alexis Mabille gown from the Spring 2014 Couture collection that just launched today. Featuring an interesting cutout on the chest, a jeweled belt and a cape-like back, the dress is totally Tilda. We can even imagine her rocking the butterfly headpiece!
Jennifer Lawrence will probably go for Dior once again, and we think this rather simple dress from the Pre-Fall 2014 collection would suit her. Strapless, fitted, in a combination of white and red, the dress would be perfect on Jennifer’s slim body and blond hair.
Kristen Stewart needs her edge, and this Pre-Fall 2014 dress by Alberta Ferretti is just that. The black, sparkly gown features sheer sleeves and a spectacular, lace bodice that would contrast with the actress’ skin tone.
She may have had her moments of glory in 1999 and 2012, but we think there’s more style coming from Gwyneth Paltrow. The actress would rock this simple Valentino Pre-Fall 2013 dress, with the dark red contrasting with her white skin, and the flattering front pleat adding even more height.
Cate Blanchett often picks soft colors with interesting bodice details, and we think this Schiaparelli Spring 2014 Couture dress would be a great choice. Since it’s the first collection for the brand in 60 years, everyone is gonna want a piece of it.
Lupita Nyong’o is great at picking dresses that complement her skin tone, so we think this Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Couture gown would be proper. The princess skirt and bow at the neckline become uber-cool when the neon belt comes into play.
We’d love to see Sandra Bullock in a neutral color like khaki, but with elegance and texture we haven’t seen her wear before. The Temperley London Pre-Fall 2014 dress would work perfectly, with its strapless bodice and cape-style back.
Julia Roberts could look memorable in a Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2014 dress in an unusual color. The ocher gown features a ruffled low back that would make for a pleasant surprise on the red carpet.
Blue is definitely Amy Adams‘ color, and the deep v-neck goes perfectly with her latest aesthetic. The Badglet Mishka Pre-Fall 2014 gown is something that should go straight to her closet and right away!
