April 14 was a bittersweet day for Michelle Trachtenberg and millions of soap opera fans across the country, who learned that ABC has pulled the plug on two of television’s most beloved daytime series, One Life to Live and All My Children. OLTL debuted in 1968 while 1970 marked the beginning of AMC, which gave first breaks to some of today’s most-popular A-list stars, including Michelle, Kelly Ripa, Josh Duhamel, Christian Slater, Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Like many other style-centric celebs, the utterly adorable Michelle—who has also appeared in Gossip Girl, EuroTrip, Harriet the Spy and 17 Again, just to name a few—is branching out from acting and trying her hand at fashion design. Two projects are in the works, and she dished about the first with Perez Hilton. A capsule collection with Rebecca Taylor that’s set to launch this fall, Michelle described her endeavor as “Just very romantic. The perfect things for ‘ooh what do I wear when I have to go on a movie date’, ‘what do I wear when I’m going on an ocean cruise?’” Her second project is under lock and key, but she says it will be affordable, with all items under $250. Sounds good to babes on a budget! Considering that Michelle’s glam taste in shades definitely can’t be beat, it seems she may be on to something with her foray into fashion design. Her sexy Chloe sunglasses are available in four frame / lens color combinations.
