The superstar surprised her fans last night, releasing a new album on iTunes, including videos for each song and guest appearances from Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Pharell Williams or Kelly Rowland. The new album is described as “visual” by Beyonce, who says “I see music. It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies.  And they’re all connected to the music.” The singer stated that she got bored with the usual way of announcing a new album, so she wanted to do something new. “I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans,” she added. The CD/DVD version of the new record should be available in stores in time for the holidays, the singer promised.

The 14 songs on the album include lots of featurings, with the last tune being the most personal. “Blue” features Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, with lyrics such as “Sometimes I feel these walls seem to cave in on me / But when I look in your eyes I feel alive.”
