The star says she’s “not bitter” about her ex finding happiness with Amber Heard.

When Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp were together, they seemed to have the perfect relationship. Through the course of 14 years, the two had two kids (Lily Rose and John Christopher), but in 2012 rumors of their breakup surfaced. Even before it was all official, Johnny Depp was already dating his The Rum Diary co-star, Amber Heard. At first it was on and off, but recently things got serious: Amber has been spotted wearing an engagement ring. If in 2010, Johnny Depp told the press he doesn’t really believe in marriage (“”Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay you’re married… If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not… But the thing is, I’d be so scared of ruining her last name. She’s got such a good last name.”), he seems to have changed his mind. And even though he’s never proposed to Vanessa, the actor did so to a bunch of other women over the years (Winona Ryder and Sherilyn Fenn are some of the most famous one, but he’s also been married to Lori Anne Allison for 3 years back in the 80s).

Apparently, Johnny called Vanessa personally to tell her about the engagement, to which she responded that she’s happy for him and “not bitter”. Vanessa has been dating French singer Benjamin Biolay, and said she doesn’t want any more drama. The “Taxi” singer has even chopped her hair recently, showing that she’s ready to move on from her 14 year relationship.
