The fifth season of The Voice ended with a new winner (spoiler alert!)
For the season finale of The Voice, each of the three finalists had to perform three songs, including a duet with their coach. The final three were Will Champlin, Tessanne Chin and Jacquie Lee, the first two in Adam Levine's team, and the latter in Christina Aguilera's. “Whatever happens tonight ..I am seriously so lucky & blessed.. Ill work hard at music no matter what. Thank you all so much for supporting❤️,” Jacquie Lee tweeted that night, while Will Champlin had some similar thoughts: “Regardless of what happens #Champs, I am so thankful that we came together to form this awesome family! Big things are coming 4 all of us.” None of them went home with the title, which went to Tessanne Chin.
The Voice finale was filled with touching moments, including a wonderful duet by Lady Gaga & Christina Aguilera (“Do What U Want”) and one by Celine Dion & Ne-Yo (“Incredible”). “Well I was really excited because The Voice called and wanted me to perform on the finale and I obviously can’t refuse. Such an amazing show and I said I’ll do it, but I want to know if Christina will do it with me,” Gaga said about how the duet came together. The duet came as a surprise, after rumors of a feud between the two singers. “She’s such an innovative artist and a risk taker and as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that,” Aguilera said in her turn.
